Arthasastra, our genial Branch Manager in Bali is well known to many
of you and he has prepared this local perspective on what has been
happening in Bali since the tragic events of October 12th 2002.
“Spiritually the Balinese people believe this terrible
tragedy occurred because the relationships between humans and God,
humans and the environment and human with human had become unbalanced.
Following the tragedy the Balinese people held a purification ceremony
with prayer not only involving Hindu people, but with people from all
religions all over the world gathered together to re-establish the
lost balance and harmony through prayer.
Communities have been working together closely
with the police to increase security and help to bring back safe
conditions. Seminars focused on increasing public awareness of
suspicious situations and security problem areas are being
conducted by representatives |
of the police force in cooperation with
members of travel, hotel and restaurant groups.
Recent visitors to Bali will have seen that there
is now increased security in hotels, harbour and airports, strict
identity checks at entry points are being conducted and the
Indonesian government has recommended that business conferences and
seminars be held in Bali wherever practical to show support and
underline its safety as a holiday destination.
Sadly an incident such as this could happen
anywhere in the world and to further help with recovery Garuda
Airlines is working together with the hotel and travel industry
offering discount travel packages as part of a worldwide promotion
to help bring back trust to our paradise.
The government has also invited journalists
to document the events and to tell the world Bali is safe once
again. In the arts, Balinese performers and artists
are working

together to dramatise the process of our recovery for the rest of
the world.
Anyway, everybody is working together not
just to bring Bali back, but also to ensure that we take the right
direction with tourism founded, as it should be, on the unique rich
tradition of our culture.
By working together we will achieve a
complete recovery and your Bali holidays will once again be happy
experiences, always to be remembered and always to live in your
heart”. |

and a restaurant in line with the
resort’s ski chalet theme.
The Karang Bolong resort will tend a little
more toward Mediterranean in style with a beach side promenade,
restaurant and cafe.
Most importantly, both resorts will be
wholly owned, operated and managed by Club Bali and we are looking
forward to a new era of innovation with services and facilities
designed from the ground up to cater for your needs.
And to take a moment for a little self
indulgence, PT Puriloka Asri, with |

Royal Bali Vacation Club and Club Bali
is the oldest established holiday ownership company in Indonesia
and this milestone event will not only provide quality
accommodation and service for members, but it will also be
testimony to the level of success we have achieved after more than
10 years of focussed commitment by the Directors, Management and
Staff.
And all of this achieved during the most
turbulent period in Indonesia economic history.
Yes, you’re absolutely right, we are just a
little bit proud of ourselves.

happy new year to all, and what an exciting year it promises to be
with the event we have planned for the latter part of 2003.
Specifically I refer to the opening of our very
own club resorts at Lembang in the mountains near Bandung and
beachside at Karang Bolong, near Anyer, about three hours west of
Jakarta.
Lembang will be the first with 30 of the
apartments completed together with a new to Indonesia “snow room” |
